"I'll Take the Bigger Half!": Creating In-Depth Fraction Number Sense
What makes a fraction a fraction? What must students understand about fractions in order to provide a basis for future understandings? In this session we will explore different interpretations of fractions with a particular focus on the unit as we represent fractions as part of a whole, part of a set, and a measure (i.e. distance on a number line).
